What Do We Work On Each Term?

Our classes follow a program on circus arts, which focuses on CORE – development of the Fundamentals of Circus disciplines including; floor skills & tumbles, strength & conditioning, APPARATUS – circus -specific large and small apparatus, WORKING TOGETHER – partner & group skills, balances, and routines.
Every child is an individual – Our students progress at different paces. They work steadily at certain skills until they have achieved them. All pupils start any apparatus at a low height and then progress onto a soaring high, which comes after controlled progression, body awareness & increased skill set. More advanced students are continued to be challenged through enhancements such as; performances, competitions, peer interventions & opportunities to be invited into our Elite Team.
There are performance opportunities in all our classes, and progression (levels) which are certificated. We will hold yearly showcases in Jay Millers’ Big Top.
Multi-Discipline Class:
This class involves a variety of circus disciplines which includes our suspended apparatus which students hang from and perform their tricks and movements on, such as; Aerial hoop, Silks, Trapeze, Cloud Swing, Wire, Pole, Rola, Juggling, Poi, Diablo, Tumbling, Clowning, Unicycle, hula Hoop, Contortion, Strength & conditioning & Choreography.
Classes cover a range of techniques across each discipline. Students will learn the importance of strength & conditioning, flexibility, and the execution of sequences, tricks & routines within a safe, supportive, and controlled environment.
(Each term students will be assessed by our staff and in some cases, our age recommendations for classes can be reconsidered based on individual talent and ability)
Elite Team
Our Elite Team will be invitation only and based on the pupil’s ability level rather than their age. This team will work on more complex techniques, sequences, routines, and choreography that will create a display for competitions, showcases, and much more.
